From 1925 to today, the Italian Open has been able to carve out an important and leading role on the continental scene. Scrolling through the roll of honor, we can read great names that have written the history of this sport and have trod the Italian’s fairway in search of glory.

But the real turning point that delivered the Italian Open to the continental elite was to bring the most important golf event in the world, the Ryder Cup, in Italy. This dream became reality and in 2015 Rome and, precisely, Marco Simone, hit the headlines for having won the right to host the biennial challenge between Europe and The United States. We will therefore attend a tournament with a special flavor: it will be played for the first time on the 18 restored holes which will host the Ryder Cup in just over two years. Not just anything, but the first real big step towards the big challenge.

And along the roman fairways all eyes will be on our two Chervò ambassadors competing: Andrea Pavan and Johannes Veerman. Neither one will want to miss the opportunity to play on the new spectacular and technical golf course with the support and passion of the Italian public, who will be able to return to follow their favorites outside the ropes. Andrea Pavan, Roman by birth and American by adoption, will play at home and in pursuit of his fourth career victory on the European Tour.

Also, protagonist of this 78th edition is Johannes Veerman, fresh winner of his first title on the top European circuit. The American player is living a moment of glory with 5 Top 20 finishes including the D+D Real Czech Masters. This victory made him one of the big winners of the European Tour. We have learned to love the talent, calmness and innate elegance of young players and, we are certain they will win you over too.

All in Rome to cheer on the Chervò ambassadors and enjoy this anticipated event that will certainly deliver a real show down to the last and final shot.
